It’s time to settle the debate once and for all: who wins when it comes to cats versus dogs? We decided to go straight to the source and ask each species which is the best and why. So, without further ado, here we go:

Cats versus Dogs: Directly from The Cat’s Meowth

Is this really a question you are asking me? Sigh, I suppose if I’m forced to lower myself to this level, I can take a few minutes to explain what everyone should already know. Obviously, cats are far superior in every way. Do you want a disgusting heathen following your every move, including when you use the giant litter box? Or an uncultured rascal slobbering all over you? Then you should get a dog. If, however, you want to enjoy the following (as you should), a cat is your ideal companion:

  • A smart, self-sufficient creature who is selective about who they love (which means if you are a recipient of this love, you should feel really special)
  • Nine whole lives with which to create menace and mayhem, but, like, in a fun way
  • A head of household to whom you can bow down
  • Plenty of purr-sonal space (with a good balance of time for cuddling, but only when we decide it’s time for that)
  • An in-house exterminator
  • An acrobat
  • Someone who can keep themselves clean and knows how to do their business without going on a long walk in the cold
  • An alert for when a bird is anywhere in the vicinity of the backyard
  • A professional napper
  • A fur-ever companion
  • A loyal sidekick
  • An unconditional love for the rest of your life (as long as you don’t go around telling people about it)

Cats versus Dogs: A Round of A-Paws for the Dogs They Say

Dogs are great! But so are people. And cats, too. I just love everyone! Everyone and everything I see is a friend I haven’t met yet. I love friends. I love dinner time. I love breakfast time! I love going for walks. I really love it when my human comes home for the day. I hate it when my human isn’t in the house. Or when the mailman comes. I love going for rides in the car! Unless those rides are to the vet. I hate going to the vet. But I love getting treats from the vet! Actually, I love getting treats from everyone! I love it when someone pets me. I love joining my human on the couch or in bed, even when I’m not supposed to. I love playing fetch! I hate getting my nails trimmed. I really, really hate baths. I love to dig, to jump, and to run. And I love you! Me and my fellow dogs are just big, loving fluff machines (even the bald ones). You should definitely get a dog, or five!
