The Radiology Department offers teleradiology services to all general practitioners. Whether there is a challenging case that you wish to collaborate on or you would like all of your cases to be evaluated by a board-certified radiologist, Oakland Veterinary Referral Services can help bring your imaging to a new level.
The Radiology Department is typically in the office Monday through Friday from 8am–4:30pm. Most image reviews will have a turnround time of 2-3 business days.
The following fees will be applied to each case:
- Up to 6 images: $78
- Greater than 6 images $108
- Comparative Dates/Multiple Dates $108

Oakland Veterinary Referral Services (OVRS) offers a multitude of diagnostic imaging techniques to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment plans. We provide the following imaging and diagnostic services to aid our staff in finding the source of your pet’s ailments and determining the proper treatment:

Digital Radiography
This advanced digital technology allows us to take quicker and clearer x-ray images that give us a more detailed picture of what is happening in your pet. Doctors can alter the radiograph to get a closer look than they can with film technology.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound technology uses non-invasive sound waves to allow doctors to view different body organs. Without the need for anesthesia or sedation, our veterinary specialists can examine and evaluate your pet’s liver, gallbladder, kidneys, adrenal glands, bladder, stomach, small intestines, pancreas, colon, peritoneum, spleen, lymph nodes, the prostate, and the uterus. Ultrasound technology often prevents the need for major surgery.
Echocardiography
This diagnostic imaging gives our board-certified cardiologists a closer, incredibly detailed view of the heart’s function. Echocardiography allows specific measurements that lead to more precise diagnoses and more effective treatment plans. Echocardiography not only helps veterinarians diagnose heart disease, but also monitors the progress of ongoing treatment. Our cardiologists often perform an echocardiography when they suspect there might be heart disease, fluid around the heart or lungs, heart murmurs, or tumors.
Computer Tomography (CT) Scan
This radiographic procedure creates cross-sectional images of various parts of the body that are typically hard to evaluate with traditional radiography. Veterinary specialists often use CT Scans to diagnose diseases that affect the brain, the sinuses, the inner ears, the orbit, the intervertebral discs, the bones, the joints, the spine, and soft tissues. CT Scans offer veterinarians detailed imaging of the size and location of any internal issues.
